This large Secondary School based in the borough of Redbridge are looking to recruit either an experienced or Newly Qualified Dance and PE Teacher (NQT) from September. The school always strive to ensure that every child receives the support and guidance they need to reach their full potential. Through providing appropriate support, they seek to ensure that every student meets the high expectations that the school sets. They want to provide an environment where all students aspire to be the best that they can be.
Graded ‘Good’ in their most recent Ofsted, it was stated that ‘The relentless drive of the Headteacher and other teachers continues to secure real improvements at the school, which in turn ensures that standards remain high. Students are taught well by dedicated teachers committed to supporting their learning. Behaviour is good and many students show enthusiasm and positive attitudes to learning in lessons – they are polite and respectful to each other, their teachers and other adults.’
The Dance and PE Department strives for success in many forms – through the various activities and opportunities offered to all students. There is a big focus on optional extra-curricular activities and competitions. The Dance Department has a range of specialist knowledge and skills that have been implemented to make lessons as engaging, creative and active as possible for students of all abilities and interests. Dance and PE plays a significant part in all aspects of school life in both the mainstream academic curriculum and through its far-reaching involvement in extra-curricular activities. Over the course of the year, a high number of dance styles are offered including Contemporary, Street, Break Dance, Bollywood, Jazz and Ballet to name a few. They continue to encourage students of all abilities to participate and run numerous competitions, festivals and school productions throughout the year.
The Dance and PE department are looking to recruit a qualified Dance Teacher to join their successful team from September. They require someone who is able to commit for at least two terms. You will be teaching a Dance timetable with a small amount of PE included.
To be considered for this Dance position, you must have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- PGCE in Dance
- Experience of teaching Dance and PE to KS3 – KS4
- The desire to become part of a fantastic and supportive team
