Job description

A brilliant opening for a Science Teacher at a respectable Secondary School in North West London has arisen to start asap until July 2019. The post would be suitable for an NQT or a more experienced teacher who would like to develop their skills and expertise in a large, well-resourced Science faculty.More details

This contemporary secondary school has developed a reputation for doing things differently and with good reason. The combination of world-leading Universities and Corporate Trust partners collaborating with talented and ambitious teachers, support staff and educational leaders has transformed provision and opened up remarkable opportunities for our young people and staff.

The excellent sixth form teaching has been enhanced by the creation of the Science Research Centre. This has allowed the sixth form students to engage and participate with real research through the fantastic science facilities.

This School received ‘Good’ in every Ofsted category, now moves into its next exciting phase of expansion. Teaching and learning are outstanding. Teachers have very high expectations and use their excellent subject knowledge to plan lessons that almost always challenge and motivate students to achieve their best. Students have positive relationships with their teachers and with one another, contributing to high-quality learning. Students’ behaviour is outstanding. They overwhelmingly agree that the new building gives them a very safe and inspiring environment in which to learn.

The school has great public transport links and is easily accessible by overground and underground train lines or bus.

This is an excellent career opportunity for a colleague who is passionate about the entitlement of young people to a rich and varied Science curriculum. Working within a vibrant and highly successful faculty, you will be an outstanding classroom teacher with a passionate commitment to the progress of all students in our fully comprehensive and heavily oversubscribed school.

Science is an increasingly popular subject at KS4 and KS5 with the majority of students in our expanding academic sixth form studying at least one of the sciences.

The successful candidate will have an unwavering belief in the potential of every student and do what it takes to ensure that students achieve their best. They should have the contagious enthusiasm for the subject which excites and motivates students.

To be considered for this Science teacher role you must have:

  • A degree in science with QTS or NQT
  • As a qualified Science Teacher, you should be a creative and enthusiastic practitioner who is able to use all available resources to their full extent
  • Have detailed knowledge of the relevant aspects of the students’ National Curriculum and other statutory requirements
  • Understand progression in their specialist subject(s), including before their specialist age range.
