This large Secondary School based in the borough of Redbridge are looking to recruit either an experienced or Newly Qualified Science Teacher (NQT) from September. The school always strive to ensure that every child receives the support and guidance they need to reach their full potential. They want to provide an environment where all students aspire to be the best that they can be. They offer a rich and increasingly varied curriculum to cater for the wide variety of interests and needs within the school.
Graded ‘Good’ in their most recent Ofsted, it was stated that ‘The relentless drive of the Headteacher and other teachers continues to secure real improvements at the school, which in turn ensures that standards remain high. Students are taught well by dedicated teachers committed to supporting their learning. The Science department consists of 20 teachers with varying specialisms. The staff within the department are committed to ensuring all students are supported effectively in order for them to make rapid and sustained progress. At Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5, classes are taught by specialists in Biology, Chemistry and Physics. There are 12 purpose built laboratories that support the schools ethos to put scientific enquiry at the heart of all lessons. The Science department is made up of enthusiastic teachers with great experience in their fields and a passion for teaching their subject. They run regular extra-curricular activities and students of all abilities are encouraged to participate. The school are looking to recruit teachers who share the same passion and desire to succeed and are considering teachers with all Science specialisms. The roles are to start in September and will be offered on a temp-perm basis.
To be considered for this Science role you must have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- PGCE in Science (Biology, Chemistry or Physics)
- Experience of teaching Science to KS3 – KS4 with their specialism to KS5
- The desire to become part of a fantastic and supportive team
- Delivered good/outstanding lessons
