This is a rare opportunity to join a vibrant and well-run SEN school in East London. You will be working 1-1 and in small groups with secondary students who have varying SEND and behavioral needs. Applicants who have a calm but firm and fair approach to behaviour management are strongly encouraged to apply. This role would suit someone who has worked in either a mainstream or SEN setting with Secondary-aged pupils, ideally at an inner-London school. Previous school-based experience is essential and candidates must be comfortable working with Key Stages 3 and 4.
The role will be split between working 1-1 with a pupil in Year 11 and the remainder of the time will be spent supporting classes in KS3 & KS3. A background working with autistic pupils is highly desirable.
Students are supported by an experienced and talented team of specialist staff who work in close unison to ensure a tailored education for each student. Students participate in a wide range of lessons including science, Food, ICT, PE and various school trips to local attractions.
There are 8-10 students in each class and students have mixed and complex needs, therefore physical restraint training, ASDAN experience and other relevant SEN qualifications are ideal but not essential requirements. Applicants must be fully available to start in January on a full-time basis and hold an Enhanced DBS Certificate (registered on the Update Service).
The school is located in East London and there’s secure onsite parking available.
